Snapshots from a few days of exploring the under the radar charm of Lancashire (without the Lake District crowds 🤪)

Highlights included….

🥾 Driving over the lonely, heathery moorland of the Trough of Bowland and pretty villages and stopping for strolls along Langdon Beck and in Dunsop Bridge

🍦Stumbling across a rough track to take us to @farmonthefell selling delicious ice cream from a converted shipping container on their farm

💦 Strolling along the Lancaster Canal at Garstang Marina, Britain’s longest lock-free inland water way

🌿 Exploring Beacon Fell country back and climbing to the trig point for views of the sea and back over the Forest of Bowland

🕊️ Enjoying the evening sunshine and listening to the birds and Canadian geese honking on Stocks Reservoir

🏃‍♀️ Piecing together a varied run of mud, knee high grass, a bridge over the M6 and wild garlic and bluebell lined lanes around Bilsborrow

☕️ An epic Sunday brunch at @brew.lancaster - green eggs for the win!

Highly recommend an adventure to Lancashire!

Playing catch up on my monthly moments of joy - the last of the February snow, a trip to London and Paris (before my phone was stolen 😬), bracing dips in Derwentwater and Grasmere, signs of spring, scores of daffodils and Easter cake on the fells ✨

An Easter Sunday of two halves! Hiking with frien

An Easter Sunday of two halves!

Hiking with friends up from Patterdale to Ruthwaite Hut to enjoy tasty homemade cakes from a bake sale for Macmillan organised by Eden Runners.

Heading out solo towards Grisedale Tarn, basking in the sunshine and joy of being back in the hills after a wet winter. Also reflecting on this week being 5 years of living in Lake District, celebrating with a paddle in the tarn.

Ending the afternoon with a very sore arm and shoulder after slipping on wet ground and also clumsily allowing my backpack to tumble into a waterfall pool after stopping for a drink (thankfully I managed to retrieve it!).

Ah the hills, full of joy, life lessons and challenges!

Small moments of Easter weekend joy on a ramble from Ambleside to Grasmere - a bracing dip in Grasmere lake, post dip hot chocolates, new shoots and daffodils along the shore of Rydal, foraging the goods for wild garlic and cheddar scones, the return of lazy afternoons in the back garden 👌🏻
